HIGHLIGHTED TUTORS AND MENTORS

Carli Sams was born and raised in Miami, Florida and attended Florida International University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She has been teaching high school for 10 years and is certified in Mathematics 5-9 and Social Studies 6-12. 

Carli has taught several social studies  and math courses including AVID, United States History, World History, and Psychology along with Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1. She is also a trained AP teacher and has taught AP Psychology, AP US History, and AP Human Geography. 

"My favorite students to work with are those who have struggled for some time and are losing interest in learning. My background in psychology provides me a unique ability to truly connect with these kids in a real way. Reigniting their passion for knowledge and developing a curiosity are skills that they carry with them forever and, in my opinion, that is priceless."

 Anne Hinze grew up a military brat and was fortunate to spend half of her childhood in the United Kingdom before her dad ended his military assignment in Montana where she spent the rest of her school days until high school graduation. Ever the traveler, she eventually found herself on the emerald coast of the Florida panhandle and has lived here for the past 23 years. A writer, dabbling artist, prolific reader, and mother to three children – Anne has spent years studying French, writing, community leadership, and the humanities. She has degrees from Northwest Florida State College and the University of West Florida and eligibility to teach English grades 6-12 in Florida. In her spare time, she loves to garden, travel, visit the mountains and spend time playing board games with her friends and family. Anne is  available to tutor beginning to intermediate French, creative writing, English, and  humanities. 

Victoria Day (pictured with her brother, Giovanni) grew up in Opelousas, LA and attended University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education Biology with a minor in general sciences.

She taught at Louisiana School for the Deaf for 5 years before moving to Florida. She taught American Sign Language for one year in Destin, Florida before another move landed her Alabama. Although certified to teach multiple subjects, Victoria is now she’s sticking to online American Sign Language tutoring.
